Save to list not working properly

If I create a search and then search for individual companies and start checking them, the counter ticks up appropriately but then when I choose to save those multiple checked accounts to a list, only the last account selected is saved. This means I have to manually save each individual account as I search it which is a pain. Please tell me how to do this properly or fix it as it seems like a basic feature that is missing. Thank you.
